QUEST FOR HELLBOY

The Line It Is Drawn #179 featured mashups of comic book characters and saturday morning TV shows. BeccaDannysWife suggested: "Jonny Quest’s lost episode… “The Legend of the Hellboy”. Below are the component parts, screencapped from the original JQ cartoon. The challenge was integrating Hellboy in a way that appeared consistant with the cartoon; with dark desaturated colors and some blurring effects.

GLPT

So, on the latest episode of the Line it is Drawn, people were asked what romantic pairings of comic book characters they'd like to see. Someone suggested Green Lantern and Photon. Problem: there are 3 or 4 Photons and a grip of GLs (say, 4 main ones?).

Now, I sort of thought the reader was referring to Monica Rambeau and John Stewart, but I kind of felt uncomfortable just naturally assuming it's the 2 African-American characters that should be together. However, I didn't want to short change therealAstrozac, who made the suggestion (although I began to suspect the vagueness of the suggestion was designed to mess with the artist).

At any rate, here are Hal Jordan and Monica Rambeau, followed by the John Stewart variant, and at bottom Hal and the Photon from Youngblood, in honor of the Sochi Olympics.

If you're wondering what's up with the costume in the top images, it's from a redesign I did a while ago: here.

shurwitt suggested: "Dr. Strange in the realm of Q*Bert!".

From the Line it is Drawn#179: “Courtesy of a suggestion from our own Daniel Cox, mash-up and/or team-up comic book characters with Hanna-Barbera characters! Here is a list of Hanna-Barbera characters if you’re unfamiliar which cartoons they did.”

joshschr suggested: "Hanna Barbara characters are the Walking Dead!"
